At the door

Coming in

The whole house is for people aged 18 and over, dining room and card rooms alike.
Photo identification may be requested at the door and again at a table.
The crew may refuse entry and are under no obligation to explain themselves.
Assistance animals are welcome. Other animals are not, and the sandstone step is no place to tie one up.

Money

Brass tokens are the house's property, count points for one evening and carry no monetary value at any time.
There is no buy-in, no pot, no rake, no prize fund and no wagering on any outcome in this building.
Money passing between players ends the hand; if it happens twice the evening ends with it.
House decks only — personal cards stay off the felt.
Score cards are torn up at the last assay and nothing carries into another evening.

Behaviour

Pressed metal and sandstone carry sound a long way. Take calls out on the footpath and the whole house thanks you.

Photograph the building freely. Ask the people at a table before you photograph them, every time.

That decision is made for safety and it stands for the evening. It is never personal and it is never negotiated at the bar.

At any hour we are open, gladly, and we would rather ring one an hour too early than five minutes too late.
